World Clean-Up Day 2018 | The Medine Group’s employees join forces to collect waste

On the occasion of the World Clean-Up Day, which takes place on September 15th, the Medine Group gathered its troops this Wednesday, 12th of September to remove and sort out waste left out on some sites of the region. For its participation in this global movement, the Group concentrated its efforts on two particularly polluted areas, more precisely on the side of the A3 road at the southern entrance of Bambous and around La Valette.

Over a hundred employees, from different Business Units of the Group, answered the call and volunteered to tackle this collective challenge. This resulted in a productive day as 12 tons of waste was picked up. General waste were collected by the Waste Service of the Black River District Council, while plastic bottles (PET) and aluminium cans were sent to the “Mission Verte” recycling bins.

Thierry Sauzier, CEO of the Medine Group, who also volunteered, shared that "It was impossible for our Group not to join this global cause. The world is facing a situation of ecological urgency which implies the fundamental necessity for us to rethink our lifestyle and consumption patterns. Employee volunteering, as a corporate value, has been nurtured for years and we are once again very proud to see so many members of our team responding to the call."
