Casela World of Adventures celebrated the animals

As part of the animal week, which was celebrated last week, Casela World of Adventures launched an awareness campaign called ‘Nou Park Nou Zanimo.’  The aim of this campaign was to celebrate the International Animal Day on October 4th and engage in a series of activity showcasing the life of the animals in the park, as well as educating the public about the importance of protecting and respecting the animals.

Part of the day, there were a guided tour to visit the birds of the Aviary 3, a presentation of Creole cows, an interaction with Prince, Cavalino and Heidi, the three horses of the park and a talk on Aldabra turtles. The day ended with the opening of gifts by the long-tailed monkeys of the park.

World Animal Day is the perfect opportunity to raise the status of animals to improve their well-being. They are considered as sensitive living beings. This day is therefore an opportunity to be kind to all the different animal species, through awareness and education”, said Paul Williams, Director of Casela World of Adventures.

The animal week was once again an opportunity to highlight those who work closely with animals every day, through mini interviews from some of the fifty Zookeepers employed by Casela. These zookeepers ensure the good living condition and health of these animals in the park on a daily basis.

Casela also shared with the public the ‘Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare’ on which the philosophy of the park is based on:

  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst.
  2. Freedom from discomfort.
  3. Freedom from pain, injury or disease.
  4. Free to express normal behaviour.
  5. Freedom from fear and distress.

The Veterinary Manager of Casela, Dr. Marie-Claire Domaingue further stressed that, “Through this approach, we want to raise awareness in general on the issue of improving the living conditions of animals. Respect for animals is also reflected in the respect of their living areas. At Casela World of Adventures, the team works every day for the comfort of the animals through tailor-made programs targeted to each type and breed.
